Prada’s design director Fabio Zambernardi to exit group

Fabio Zambernardi, currently head of design at the Prada Group and for Miu Miu, is set to depart the luxury goods conglomerate after more than two decades, FashionNetwork.com has learned.

The Italian designer joined the group in 1999 as a handbag designer and rose through the ranks to become head of design for Prada’s women’s leather goods in 2006.

He subsequently expanded his remit to oversee the design of Prada’s men’s collections in 2008 and added responsibility for Miu Miu in 2015.

His exit is part of a wider management shake-up Prada has implemented in recent months, which has included the departure of CEO Patrizio Bertelli, who handed over the reins to his son Lorenzo Bertelli in January.

The group also announced the departure of its human resources director, Daniela Casa, and its chief sustainability officer, Lorenzo Bertelli, in February.

The news of Zambernardi’s departure was confirmed to FashionNetwork.com by a spokesperson for the Prada Group.
